The 1st meeting of ISO/TC227-Springs was held in Tokyo

The first meeting of the ISO/TC 227 - Springs was held on 2005.08.29 in Tokyo.
It was joined by the national leaders of 5 P-members like China, France, Germany, Japan AND Korea and 8 additional delegates of these countries.
In addition to the delegates, some Japanese observers watched the progress of the meeting.

Two new liaisons have been established with ISO/TC 10/SC 6 (Documentation) and ISO/TC 17/SC 4 (heat treatable steels) for close working in the future.

Discussions during the break in which Japanese observers have been involved were very interesting and useful for the task of TC227.

After the meeting the president of JSMA, Mr. K. Kato, came along and did a greeting speech.
Several famous representatives of Japanese economic life also came along and did greeting speeches. These have been Mr. R. Matsumoto, Director of Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI) and Mr. M. Tanaka, president of the International Standardisation Organisation in Geneva, and Mr. H. Wakai, director of Japanese Standards Association (JSA).

In his final speech of Mr. T. Maeda who did a lot for the achievement of ISO/TC 227 - Springs during his active time as the president of JSMA, he expressed his gratitude for the progress of TC227 hoping for more participation from other key countries to the TC.

The next meeting of this ISO/TC 227 - Springs is anticipated for mid of October 2006 in Germany.
